Speech and Debate Team Recognizes Top Performers and New Captains
Loyola Blakefield’s Forensics team celebrated an outstanding year at its recent awards banquet, recognizing students for excellence in leadership, dedication, growth, and competitive achievement in speech and debate.

Jay McAvoy '29 - Dan McNeal Team Spirit Award
Spencer Haber '30 - Rising Star Award
Donovan March '27 - Fr. John Gavin S.J. Unsung Hero Award
Elijah Spann '29 - Thomas P. Durkin Novice Award
Matthew Lacson '27 - Thomas Maronick Award
Andrew Blackburn '26 - Charles Donovan Award
Nico Solano '26 - St. Edmund Campion S.J. Award
The banquet also celebrated the student leaders who will guide the program next year. Matthew Marana '27 was named Speech Captain, with Matthew Lacson '27 serving as Assistant Speech Captain. In Congressional Debate, Langston Outlaw '27 was selected as Captain, while Nathan Porter '27 will serve as Assistant Congressional Debate Captain.
The program additionally extended congratulations to Mr. Marlo Lacson ’20, who was named District Coach of the Year in recognition of his leadership and impact within the broader forensics community.
